Rossmoor, CA was named a 2016 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. Rossmoor achieved Tree City USA recognition by the program's four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

The initial Village 605 Project Shopping Center was approved by the Los Alamitos Planning Commission. The appeal filed by a citizen from Seal Beach was withdrawn due to various mutually agreed upon concessions. Unfortunately, the appeal addressed issues surrounding the electronic sign rather than the significant traffic concerns held by many residents. Therefore the project will progress. The RCSD Board President presented the 2016 State of the District Address at the January 10, 2017 regular meeting of the Board. The State of the District Address can be read on our website at: www.rossmoor-csd.org. The RCSD Board of Directors also held its annual election of officers. Election results can also be found on our website. RCSD Board meetings are televised on LATV-3 and are also available for viewing 24/7 on our website.
The Rossmoor Community Services District Board of Directors appointed Mark Nitikman to fill the vacancy on the Board resulting from the resignation of Dave Burgess at their regular monthly meeting held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
